NOMU REEVES | FOUNDER AND EXECUTIVE CHEF

Le Sel Catering and Events is the culmination of a lifelong dream of chef and owner, Nomu Reeves.

Nomu developed a deep passion for the culinary world during her upbringing in Liberia and on the culturally rich Cote d’Ivoire. The country's French influence profoundly shaped her, creating a lifelong connection to both the language and cuisine. Immersed in a diverse culinary heritage from communities like the Lebanese, and Vietnamese, she cultivated a broad palette of flavors and styles.

Upon arriving in the US as a teen, Nomu actively nurtured her love for food. She pursued studies at the Art Institute of Philadelphia and gained valuable experience with renowned catering companies, including Restaurant Associates, Wolfgang Puck Catering, Starr Events, Constellation, and Neuman’s Kitchen.

In 2011, she founded Le Sel Catering and Events in response to growing client interest for small, private dinners. Over the years, the business expanded its offerings to include weddings, receptions, conferences, galas, and more.

Le Sel Catering and Events, named after the French word for salt, embodies an ethos centered on high quality, innovation, and authenticity, stemming from Nomu's unwavering passion for food.

YUNIO FERREIRO | EXECUTIVE SOUS CHEF

Born in Villa Clara Cuba, Yunio came to the US in 2014. Originally intent on entering the computer science field, he found a burgeoning interest in the world of food and hospitality. He began his culinary career in the Philadelphia restaurant scene at Cuba Libra, steadily developing his skills in the kitchen.

In 2017 Yunio moved into catering and has remained in this space ever since, with roles at Constellation Catering and Neuman’s Kitchen. It was while at Constellation Culinary Group he first met Nomu Reeves. Over the years they developed a strong working relationship with a shared interest approach to creative cuisine.

In 2024 he joined Nomu at Le Sel Catering as Executive Sous Chef.
